why we started

Furbish Company was launched in 2003 with a deep commitment to sustainable building approaches. It was our conviction that sustainable buildings weren't just about saving the environment. They offered greater comfort to occupants, healthier indoor environs, lower costs to operate, and more beautiful aesthetics. We believe these attributes should generate real economic value. Thus our commitment to green building has combined a willingness to challenge today's conventions with a determination to deliver readily-accepted, cost-justified solutions. We believe green building should generate cost effective solutions and profit potential to us as a going concern.

We started this journey without constraint on types of systems we offered. We have successfully implemented straw bale construction, natural plasters, solar/geothermal HVAC. We remain open to considering new systems and approaches. But we offer systems to our clients only when we can maintain reliable delivery and appropriate long-term support from our suppliers. We offer products and systems only as long as those conditions are maintained. Thus, our evolution has included a broad array of products/systems/services. And we may evolve into new systems unrelated to those currently offered - if and when the supporting conditions warrant.
