Vegetated Retaining Walls
Furbish Company sells, installs, and maintains Hercules™ and Neptune™ vegetated retaining walls. The Hercules™ modular system provides vertical garden space in addition to high-performance retaining wall structures. These are applicable for small residential jobs, large commercial projects and DOT highway slope stabilizations.
We are qualified to engineer and install complete walls. Additionally, we are the mid-Atlantic distributor of Hercules™ product and supply existing retaining wall contractors. We can assist local installers with technical support and installation training. We are happy to follow your installation of modules with the landscaping installation and maintenance. Island Effect

Heat island effect is the temperature differential between urban areas and the surrounding countryside. Roads, buildings, and rooftops absorb a significant amount of heat during daylight hours that is in turn radiated back into the atmosphere at night.
These temperature differentials cause air currents carrying dust, and even contribute to increased violent weather events within urban settings. Of more direct concern to building inhabitants is the tens of millions of extra dollars spent every year on HVAC systems to cool this increased ambient temperature. Within their immediate micro climate, vegetated retaining walls significantly reduce the urban heat island effect.
